President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor Yukihiro Aoshima Freed stated demand is high throughout the ASEAN since it was introduced in Japan in May 2008.
"The need Freed in Asean approximately 5 thousand to 6 thousand units per year. What we export target to the front, later seen after launched in the country concerned," said Yukihiro when removing the prime export 1,000 units to Thailand Freed in Karawang, West Java, Monday, December 14, 2009.
Although demand in ASEAN is quite high, yet PT Honda Prospect Motor manufacturer plans to add production capacity in the Industrial Area Mitrakarawang, West Java, which currently reaches 50 thousand units per year.
"The capacity is now 50 thousand units, is still sufficient for the production," he said.
Yukihiro explains, Indonesia as a production base in addition to Freed, is also the largest market in Southeast Asia. Until November 2009, Honda's car sales reached 37,005 units which is dominated by sales of the Honda Jazz, Honda CR-V and Honda Freed.
Sales Freed after 5 months of launch telag reached 8500 units with an average production of 1600 units per month. In fact, Freed has been entered to be one of the top 10 best-selling car in Indonesia.
Freed Honda first introduced in Japan in May 2008. Since its launch, this model is directly incised achievements in Japan, among others, by winning the title of "Best Value" in the event the Japan Car of the Year 2008-2009. In addition, the Honda Freed minivan also recorded the highest sales figures in Japan in 2008.
In Indonesia, Honda Freed was launched on June 29, 2009 in which Indonesia became the first country outside of Japan, which launched this model to the market. Until the end of November after its launch, Honda Freed has sold over 8483 units.
Honda Freed assembled at the factory of PT Honda Prospect Motor is located in the Industrial Area Mitrakarawang, West Java. Factory which was established since 2002 and started production in 2003 is supported by more than 3,000 professional workforce.
